The year 5 students have been given the task of designing and developing a Mars base that is suitable for a colony of people to live in. After much researching and the sacrificing of a few astronauts and colonists, the students realised that the Red Planet does not have a suitable atmosphere for people and their base had to be airtight.
Hence, the students are now in the construction phase. Hopefully the Credit Crisis and union disputes won’t hold up production and the project can be finished before the end of term.
The students even wrote a letter to apply for a share of the $42 billion stimulus package from the Rudd government’s, but so far they haven’t received a reply. I have offered to give them class bank money instead. At this stage no one has asked for bonus money for losing their company millions of dollars.

Yes! Mr Hodgson has fallen foul of Media Watch. As inaccurately reported on his blog at mrhodgsonsclass.edublogs.org Mr Watt and the year 5 class have not capitulated and thrown in their towel for the most hits on their blog.
he true story is a technical hitch developed when the year 5’s were trying to improve the design of their blog. A vital bit of code went missing. The problem has now been rectified and the Clustr Map is back on board.
Regulators are looking into this mishap and investigators say saboutage has not been ruled out. Expect to see more about this incident on an upcoming Four Corners report.
Better luck next time Mr Hodgson.
